Golf Rangefinders
| Should I consider golf rangefinders or golf GPS devices? |
What would you buy if you could get either a Busnell Golf Range Finder or one of the best golf GPS devices? That was the dilemma I faced on my birthday. My wonderful wife said she would get the best golf GPS unit for me and so we headed to the Golf Super Store - at least that's what I understood her to say. The salesman did the best possible job in telling me all the virtues of a golf GPS unit, my wife was ready to buy it and wrap it up for my birthday, but ONE THING kept holding me back ...I wanted to know how far my ball was from the pin.
Golf Laser Rangefinders
Golf laser range finders provides the golfer with the most important information - how far it is to the pin or to the target.Golf rangefinders provide several benefits over golf GPS devices: 1. No one time or annual membership fee 2. Can be used on any golf course. Not all golf courses can be downloaded to the gps 3. Easy and Simple. No hooking up to my computer, finding the website, looking for the course and then downloading it. I am always ready to go. 4. Finds the target quickly and accurately Find out what I walked out of the store with and why I love golfing with this laser rangerfinder.

Pinseekers
Other golf laser rangefinders will target the larger objects that surround the pin. Because these larger objects, such as trees, contain greater signal strength than the target or pin, the result can be false readings. So Bushnell created PinSeeker technology, which ensures accurate target positioning by isolating your target and completely shutting out background hazards. When golf rangefinders sense more than one object, the closer of the two is displayed so that the desired distance is calculated every time within plus or minus 1 yard.
Bushnell Golf Range Finder
I ended up getting the Bushnell Tour V2 Golf Range Finder. I like the compact size and the ease of figuring out distances to the green within seconds. The Tour V2 is equipped with Bushnell's PinSeeker technology, which precisely isolates your target to improve accuracy and eliminate false readings. I often found that my buddies who used golf GPS devices did not have the accuracy as my friend who always used his laser range finder. With the PinSeeker technology you can easily figure out the distance to flags no matter where the flag is or what other objects or trees are in the background. I have found that the Tour V2 gives me the accurate distance information I need to make smart, safe shots. Here are some other 5 star reviews by golfers: Bushnell V2 Tour Slope Edition - 2 thumbs up!, July 21, 2009By J. Han (Singapore) "Bought a unit last month after reading reviews of other rangefinders in the market. Was unsure if the V2 is quick to lock onto the target as I do have shaky hands (am a smoker) and using 1 hand to operate this unit on the golf course." Conclusion after 5 rounds with the Bushnell V2 slope edition: "The unit is quick to find the supposed target and readings come back fast! was quite surprised and it takes only 6-8secs to get a reading! Doesn't add too much time to my pre-shot routine and gives me more confidence mentally to execute my shot. Most importantly it is lightweight and can be strapped to my belt. Highly recommended product! " To read more reviews click here: Bushnell Tour V2 Reviews
